I was curious if there’s any logs I can access for events submitted through the public submission form, or about general created events? I just had a staff member submit 2 events, get confirmation emails, and the events don’t seem to have populated in the backend. Super strange and the only time this has ever happened for us, so I just would like to try to figure out what happened and avoid it happening again.
Thanks for writing and sure thing. You can sort events “By Submissions: Submissions only” when you’re looking at the sidebar in the Dashboard and in combination with some other filters, say, “By group: All groups” and “Hidden” events should give a glimpse of all events submitted by the public submission form that haven’t been approved yet (since those by default are hidden). It would look something like:
You could start there and see if those events were submitted to the wrong group and just need to be moved/approved. If you’re still having issues with specific events not appearing, we could take a closer look at things via the Request Help form.
Hi Rachael, thanks for the info! I had actually already tried what you suggested, so I tried again carefully. I don’t see these 2 events anywhere /: so strange, this has never happened before!
Is there any technical log I have access to that I can check for a timestamp or such? I have the email confirmations the employee received for reference.
It’s not that anything needs to be fixed or such; I’m just confused that these don’t seem to be anywhere. The only other thing I can think of is they did get recorded & then somehow deleted, but my colleagues don’t recognize the events.
Hmm – you can check the Activity Log for events getting created/deleted, and you could also try checking the access and error logs (reachable for an admin linked from /livewhale/?lw_debug=1) to try to isolate the time of the submission, if there’s a form issue preventing an event from being saved, it could be logged in the Error log. Ah perfect – the activity log is what I was looking for! (: I found my problem – someone did indeed delete the event (probably without realizing, because I already asked them if they’d seen it & they said no )
