Ongoing events: date range display across multiple years

For ongoing events, the date range at the top of the event page displays appears as Month+Date - Month+Date, e.g. May 23 - June 1. However, this causes a problem for events lasting over a year. For example, we have an exhibit that opened on May 23, 2024 (last year) and runs through June 1, 2025. But when you go to the event page it says May 23 - June 1 which makes it appear as if the exhibit does not start until May 23 of this year: Here to Stay: Celebrating 40 Years at the Architecture Archives / CMU Events Calendar

I’m wondering if it is possible to show the year in the date display, such that events within the same year would appear May 23 - June 1, 2025 while events across different years would show as May 23, 2024 - June 1, 2025? Not sure if this is a setting that can be adjusted on our end or if it needs to be a feature request…

Hi Jen,

I see what you mean—that’s a good point. I can understand how the current format could be misleading for events that span more than a year. We’ll flag it for consideration and look at adding it to our roadmap.

Thanks,
Stephen

Thank you for considering this feature request!

Just a quick update to let you know that we’ve rolled the date display enhancement into our next release. It ensures that events spanning more than a year will now show full dates with years included.

Jen,
As a thank-you for flagging this, we’ve also gone ahead and patched the update to your production server so you don’t have to wait for the next release to benefit from the fix.

Appreciate you bringing it to our attention!

Thank you so much, Stephen - I really appreciate the quick patch on our site!
