We have a calendar group that uses LW as the system of record for all university events, with links to Eventbrite for managing ticket sales, seat reservations and detailed registration options.
Has any other university successfully implemented an API, integration, or plug-in that automatically:
creates the event in Eventbrite at time it is first created in LW
then populates back the Eventbrite link into the “Registration link” field in LW
Currently, the team must create the event separately in both LW and Eventbrite, resulting in duplicate effort. They are looking for ways to streamline this process and reduce manual data entry, if possible.
Thank you in advance for any advice or recommendations that have worked at your institution.
In the past, there was an EventBrite API that could have that be the canonical source of info, and then we were able to feed events from EventBrite into LiveWhale via a Linked Calendar (auto-filling in the registration link along the way).
However, since around 2023, it seems like EventBrite stopped supporting their API, so we haven’t recommended that approach since then. (Doing a bit of googling, I can see some disappointed folks on forums discussing as recently as 2025 that EventBrite stopped supporting their API but hasn’t taken down the webpages about them.)
If anyone has more context—or you might, if you have a good relationship with a support contact at EventBrite—I’d love to learn more, otherwise I think manually pasting an EventBrite link into the LiveWhale event record may be the most straightforward way to go.
