Hi folks,
I’ve searched the documentation for category, and it seems to me like this for the CMS and API, not for the calendar portion. Am I off base on this?
Thanks!

Hi Rob,
It’s both! When making events widgets in LiveWhale Calendar, sure thing, you can definitely use the category filter. (If you check off “Only these event types…” in the widget editor, you’ll see what gets added to the generated widget syntax is <arg id="category">...
Anything in the docs that’s CMS only we try to mark with a big yellow banner, like this. Let us know if more questions arise; thanks!
Karl
Thanks for that, especially the callout for the CMS-only. Good to know.
I don’t see category in our interface for creating an event. Is it just that we’re not implementing it locally or is it perhaps somewhere I’m not expecting to look?
Ah, gotcha! They’re often called “Event types” interchangeably in the UI. (“categories” ends up being more of the system/widget/API name) On your calendar, it looks like yours are “Open to the Public, Alumni, Arts, Athletics,” etc.
Thanks very much, Karl. Really appreciate it.
