Hey folks,
One of my coworkers wants to import a few events from a CSV file instead of the ordinary formats. We’ve done some searches on the documentation database to no avail, so I’m guessing it’s not possible, but I thought I should check.

Not sure what the LiveWhale folks might say, but it is an option on the CMS at least.
/livewhale/?events_import_csv
For some reason, I only see the option “Import” in the toolbar when adding/editing an event [?events_edit
] and not in the list view [?events_list
].
Like with profiles, the import feature is strict on format. Beyond that, I’ve used it many times now without much issue. Getting the list of new student onboarding events added for editors to refine, for instance.
Thanks,
Nick
To add to what Nick has shared: the /livewhale/?events_import_csv UI is available on most released versions of LiveWhale “in the wild,” but we’ve been considering it a beta feature and hoping to finalize/bundle it for release later this year more officially. So I’ve told a few people—if you want to tool around with it as it currently stands at it meets your needs, great! But otherwise, know that it’s on our plate to finalize and put a bow on it later this year for official release, including fleshed-out documentation, etc.
Thanks everyone, I really appreciate the help.
Thanks Karl! I have a colleague who’s very interested in this feature and was able to implement it to import a few events for display exclusively on our mobile app. Do you have an estimated ETA on when in the 2025 this could be coming out of Beta? This is definitely a feature we see being used by many of our calendar admins across the university.
Thanks!
Scott
We’ll talk about it on the 18th at our conference!
