Google/Apple limits on incoming subscription feeds

We’ve noticed that when folks subscribe to a LiveWhale calendar in Google Calendar, they only see a rolling 6 months’ worth of events into the future - but the same subscription feed displays a year’s worth of events in Apple iCal. I am pretty sure these are limits set by the respective calendar platforms for all incoming subscription feeds (from any source), and there is nothing we can do about it on the LiveWhale end of things, correct? Just want to be sure we are explaining it properly to users in our documentation. Thanks.

Hi Jen,

One thing to check out here would be to look at your public.config—the default range is to show results for 6 months for iCal events API queries that don’t specify a range (like a subscription feed), but that setting would be set for all iCal feeds, not sure about the difference between Google vs. Apple iCal that you mention. Support docs: ical_month_range - LiveWhale Support

However, it could be a good first step to check out—you may decide you want to increase that and see if that might get you a more desired result and range of events.

Hope that helps! Thanks,
Rachael
