Editor cannot create/delete pages, but can duplicate them?

Hello,

I have an editor with the following permissions:

A list of LiveWhale editor permissions, with "Create and Delete Pages" not enabled.

They sent me a request this morning for a page they’ve made…to be added to the navigation. I went looking, and found this in the Manage Pages section of their group.

I see two new pages with URLS for “/apply-copy/” and “/apply-copy-1/”. They appear to have been made this morning by the editor, with the one currently set to Live being edited between the time of its creation and the time the email was sent to me.

It appears that this editor, despite not being able to make new pages, is still able to duplicate existing pages. However, given its use here– copy a page then change the title and content– I’d consider the ability to duplicate an equivalent to adding a new page. They may not be able to get the page into their navigation, but they can still make it Live and accessible for users.

Has anyone else seen this happen? Is this intended behavior, or a bug?

Hi Nick, Thanks for bringing this to our attention. This sounds to me like a bug—a spot where a tool that should’ve been hidden for someone without the core “pages_manage” permission level was missed. We’ll file it for investigation and a core fix. Apologies for the inconvenience in the meantime!
