Deleted Events Retrieval

Hello,

Is there a way to retrieve a deleted event? In the backend does it actually get deleted or marked as deleted in the database?

We would like to find out if an event deleted in April 2024 can possibly be retrieved? Or may be find out information on who may have published it?

Deleted dynamic content ends up in a kind of recycling bin. It is accessible from the Dashboard. Top Toolbar, “Search Content” tab, “Deleted Items”.

Going by our instance, I see events from all the way back to August 14. I assume then that deleted Events are held for a year by default.

So, for your case, I believe it is very likely that the event from April 2024 can be retrieved. Not sure what the edit history would include after restoration though.

I was unable to find it. I am looking for an event that would have the keyword Laurel or Laurel Pin or Laurel Pin Conferral.

Where else can we look?

Hi Akbar,

A few other things you could check on:

  • You could try searching the activity log for those specific event keywords to see if there are any details around edits from any user

  • You could also double-check that when filtering along the side you’ve chosen the option “All groups” vs. the default group you are currently in

  • And speaking a little more broadly to the topic: there is a possibility that the event was part of a linked calendar and if removed from there may not appear in the trash. However, in recent updates, we’ve implemented new LiveWhale code that would preserve those from being completely deleted though—which I believe your install already has that.
