Last week we noticed that the majority of our events from October 2024 to present disappeared with only a few remaining in each month – Information Technology - University of Florida. For a quick fix we republished those disappearing events (we did only from June 17–when we discovered the issue–onwards) and they came back. We would like to check if others had experienced similar problems and to see if anything can be done to prevent this from happening.
Sorry to hear this is giving you trouble. Are those events coming from an external source (a Linked Calendar) or entered natively into LiveWhale? That would be a first place to look when troubleshooting this.
Thanks Anchalee – if re-saving them did the trick, it’s possible than an upgrade step may have failed to run fully in a prior calendar.ufl.edu upgrade. I’m not able to login to your server via the Forum here to investigate further, but if you fill out the Request Help Form we can take a hands-on look to help look for an explanation or a fix.
Aha: Turns out this was a database upgrade bug that popped up during the LiveWhale 2.20.1 auto-upgrade process. I’ve seen other 2.20.1 upgrades run smoothly so I don’t think it’s happened to everyone — if anyone else has a similar issue of Live events not showing up on the front-end until you re-save, please reach out using Request Help and we can re-run that upgrade step to make sure your event listings are showing up.
It sounds like this upgrade bug has affected at least one or two other folks – we’ve done a hand-review of everyone running LiveWhale 2.20.1 and have made sure everyone’s events are loading properly.
