API links have stopped working

We’ve received reports that links in the API are no longer working. The URLs in the API /live/ and use /events/ instead of /event/. Is there a setting that has been changed?

Here are some examples of API links and links from the livewhale calendar that work:
API - https://events.georgetown.edu/live/events/30969-excel-tips-and-tricks-from-dml
Calendar - Excel Tips and Tricks from DML | School of Nursing Events | Georgetown University
API - Spring 2025- Examinations Begin - University Registrar | Georgetown University
Calendar - Spring 2025- Examinations Begin / Georgetown University Events Calendar

Hi Emma—That’s strange and we’re checking this out. More to come soon!

Thanks Rachael. I’ve been going over some of our weekly site backups and it looks like the API change might have happened between 4/12 and 4/19.
At least in the nursing backup on 4/12 the url format was Program Overview Webinar: DNP Pathways | School of Nursing Events | Georgetown University but on 4/19, it was https://events.georgetown.edu/live/events/31272-doctoral-project-defense-josephine-ignis

It looks like the links are working again. Did you do anything on your end? We didn’t.

Hi Emma,

Thanks for bringing this to our attention – yes, we found that back-patching a fix from our upcoming 2.20.0 release fixed this for your calendar, so we went ahead and did that.

We haven’t yet sussed out what exactly caused this bug to manifest on your calendar and not others running LiveWhale 2.19, so we’re going to look a bit into that. But, if anyone else notices this happening on your site, please feel free to let us know here or using the Request Help Form so we can get some more examples in hand. Thanks!

Karl
