It would be good to have some discussion of the allow_in widget arg somewhere in the documentation. I was not able to find it be searching ‘allow_in’ or by poking around on various pages related to widgets. I admit that it may be in there somewhere but it is not easy to find, at least for me.
Reason I was looking was to try to see whether there was a disallow_in argument or something like that. Of course I can just try it but I might have the name wrong, and something official would be nice.
Most typically, it takes the values all, frontend, or backend and can be used to indicate where the CL is allowed to be inserted from the WYSIWYG editor.
There is also an (as yet—we’ll fix this) undocumented use case where you can indicate a specific editable area ID like news_description (on the back end) or main-content (for <div id="main-content" on the front-end page editor). Let us know if we can say more about this, and we’ll make a note to zhuzh up the docs on this piece! Thanks.
thanks Karl - I actually somehow found that page after I posted this and was coming back here to say never mind, but news_description is exactly the one I needed so thanks for putting that in here! I know about the other content area ones because they are all over our site but didn’t see that one.
It would be helpful if searching allow_in would have turned that up though…
Yay for more documentation - the more there is the less we will post stuff like this!
