A sub-permission checkbox missing in User Permissions under Curator

In the dashboard, we are missing the checkbox option to opt a LW CMS Curator-permission level user to edit raw page source code (under administrator, without being an administrator) as the Permissions section here states we should be able to Users and Permissions - LiveWhale Support
I have advancement folks who routinely need to edit file include widgets (namely Raisers Edge file ID numbers for events and giving forms) They used to be able to do this at their permission level. On the documentation page it shows 4 admin sub-permissions but on the dashboard option under the User editor, it only shows 3 checkboxes. edit raw page source code is missing there.

If I am correct, I don’t think “edit raw page source code” has been a permission for a long time, so I think the documentation is wrong. I remember when it used to exist. It allowed admins to edit the full source code of the page, including template code. I believe it was removed to prevent people from breaking pages’ associations with templates and other things. Editing full source code can only be done via FTP now.

However, that doesn’t mean that editors can’t do what you are describing. If someone has access to edit pages, they should be able to click the source code button <> in the editor toolbar to edit the source code for a particular editable region. That should allow them to edit the the ID in the file include widget.

You are totally right, Jon-- it is not the full raw source code I am wondering about, thank you for clarifying-- it is using the source code <> button on the editor that 2 curators are not able to access – a red crossed circle icon pops up and no source code box appears when clicked. I was thinking perhaps that was made a sub-permission now. So, they should be able to edit that source code within the editor, but they cannot. Any suggestions-- anyone else reporting this too?

Sorry, I have not experienced that and am unaware of anything that would cause it. Hopefully LiveWhale or someone else can help.

Thanks Jon and Erin!

Hmm, the normal <> Source Editor button inside of a WYSWIYG area should still be available to page editors, sounds like there must be something else going on here. Erin, could you please either provide steps to reproduce that we can try on our own servers, or we can go hands-on to test it on your site via personalized email support if you shoot us a URL to try there. Thanks!

Hi Karl- Checked with 4 curator-level editors and no one can access the source code icon anymore (used to be able to, prior to launch of site) The <> is there on editor bar, and turns grey on hover, but nothing happens when they click.

Thanks Erin! Sorry this one was a bit tricky – we’ve traced this to a small LW bug in the pre-release LiveWhale track which your site is running, and we’ve followed up with you via email about the fix we’ve patched.
