Incorrect Holiday dates

Karl, The holidays in December are a day off. Is there a setting that needs to be changed on our server setting? We could not easily figure this out. Please see attached image.

Hi Shyam,

Sorry to hear this is giving you trouble. Can you let us know a little more info about those events and how they’re being added to LiveWhale? Without being able to log in to your calendar instance in the forum if you can provide some more general information, we can try to take a look at investigating things on our own test servers to see what the issue might be. (Or if you perfer some additional hands-on help, feel free to submit things through the Request Help form).

Let us know and thanks!

Christmas and Hannukah

Rachel, Christmas is on Dec 25th. It shows as Dec 24th and Hannukah starts Dec 15th, On the calendar it is on Dec 14th

Hi Shyam,

Mm hmm, yes, I do see that. A few follow-up questions:

  1. Are those being natively added within LiveWhale via the event editor or are they being added another way, like imported by a linked calendar?
  2. Are there other events you notice being off? Or just those two?

Please let us know and if they are through a linked calendar, would you mind sharing that URL so we can take a closer look? Thanks,
Rachael

No linked calendar.
Group: Public
Just noticed it for this month when we moved to December

URL: Temple Law Calendar

Hi Shyam,

LiveWhale doesn’t auto-publish any events (including holidays and such), so any issues with those events (or any event data) on your calendar you should be able to edit in the back-end? That is, if you go to the “Public” group in the group switcher, see if they are there and you should be able to click to edit them? Or let us know if there’s any context we’re missing here. Thanks,

Karl

Karl,

As you can see from the screenshots, the holidays Christmas, Hanukkah, etc have no link (linked events in red, non-linked events in color black) are not editable, though I am logged in as admin. It looks like it is coming from somewhere that is not our calendar. Hence, I was curious to see if our calendar has a holiday calendar connected on the backend that we don’t control. Any guidance on this will be helpful. Are other users seeing this?

Hi Shyam,

Sure, I can give more context there: saved events that don’t have a description or other data “beneath the fold” (like an RSVP or Contact Info) appear as plain text items in the front-end calendar and widget views, rather than full links. They should still be editable if you find them from the back-end view. (LiveWhale doesn’t auto- or pre-populate any event data; all the calendar data is within your control as an Admin.)

You can use the sidebar filter “By group: All groups” as a filter in the back-end if that helps you find them.

I’m not seeing the Christmas etc events when I check Temple Law Calendar but that might just meant they have a privacy setting for “Any logged-in user” for instance, which would mean they only appear for logged-in users like yourself. Hope this helps! Let us know if we can say more about this.

Karl
