Hello,
When attempting to add tags to items in LiveWhale, I tend to use Checkboxes → Apply Tag... → New tag... and type in what I want to add.
I often end up doing this even for existing tags, leading to this message:
Could not save tag. Please check to ensure there isn't already a tag by this name.
…and needing to go through the list and checkbox 2-20 items again.
My request: if a user attempts to add a new tag that already exists, assign the existing tag and notify the user of what was done.
There may be some logic or reason to use the existing way, like helping users avoid adding what they think is a new tag that would potentially conflict with behavior already assigned to the existing tag. If so, then maybe keep the existing behavior, but edit the error message to include a prompt to allow the editor to use the existing tag if desired:
Could not save tag because there is already a tag with this name. You can [assign the existing tag to the previously marked items.]
Thanks,
Nick
